Description
English: John Lilley, shown here c. 1901, won the U.S. Medal of Honor for his display of gallantry when capturing the Confederate flag and CSA prisoners in the Third Battle of Petersburg on April 2, 1865 during the American Civil War. He served as a private with Company F, 205th Pennsylvania Infantry (Union Army).
