Description
Français : Jean Améry, dont le nom autrichien d'origine est Hans Mayer, est un intellectuel écrivain, émigré en Belgique lors de l'Anschluss. Résistant pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale, il fut capturé et déporté à Auschwitz-Monowitz. Il en sortit miraculeusement, mais profondément meurtri intellectuellement. Il l'a merveilleusement exprimé dans son essai "Par delà le crime et le châtiment" publié en 1966, à propos des répercussions de la torture et de l'environnement concentrationnaire sur l'homme de lettres, de plus classifié comme juif. Ce portrait, au regard lourd et mystérieux, est un témoignage touchant qui date de 1951, soit 15 ans avant qu'il n'ait pu exprimer et transcrire sa réflexion sur cette expérience terrible et dévastatrice.
