Description
English: Civil rights activist James Meredith (then 32) lies on the ground after having been shot thrice while walking in his March Against Fear in Mississippi. The gunman, Aubrey James Norvell (40), is seen in the bushes on the left. This photograph won the 1967 Pulitzer Prize for Photography.
