English: LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF DOVER ON THE ST. JONES RIVER. THE HOUSE WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1740 BY JOHN’S FATHER, SAMUEL, BUT WAS GUTTED BY FIRE IN 1804. JOHN DICKINSON WAS KNOWN AS "THE PENMAN OF THE REVOLUTION" SITE IS NOW A NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK
