HARTLEY MANNERS THE GREATEST OF THESE Monday, May 13,1918. 9:15 a.m. Left the Pennsylvania Station, New York, at9:15 a.m. We all have cute, little, uncomfortable rooms,so we have to look each other in the face only whenimpulse moves us. For the married ones there isno escape. You sit opposite each other and gazeand gaze until the sight becomes blurred with theeternal nearness of the beloved face. However,I drew a nice one, and I like to look! Had lunch with Mr. Toohey, our press-agent,whose business it is to coax some sacred anecdotefrom you to be blazoned forth as a reason why youare you. I unfolded to his listening ears longtales of anything, hoping he wouldnt have time tointerview the other stars! Its my first experience in an All-Star cast.Theyre the funniest lot! They say Good morn-ing an everything! Its quite a pleasant thingto find an all-star, who plays only all-stars(Disraeli, Paganini, Hamilton, etc.) ask you,Why does a chicken cross the road? Of course,it wasnt really about
