Description
English: early work painted when Isaac was just 16 years old. The Enthovens were family friends of the Israëls. Nanette was married to Lodewijk Jan Enthoven, son of Karel Enthoven who took over the well-known steel works Pletterij L.J. Enthoven & Comp. at The Hague. Their cousin Lodewijk Cornelis Enthoven was an art collector who accumulated a significant collection of early Vincent van Gogh paintings which passed into the Kröller-Müller collection in 1920.
