Description

The Koninklijke Rotterdamsche Lloyd motor ship Indrapoera, built by Koninklijke Maatschappij De Schelde in 1925. This may be a photo of her at her completion in 1925, or it may have been taken after her 1931 refit. The ship was scrapped in 1963.[1]

It was on this ship that cabaret dancer Cissy Hill, a favourite of Ibrahim, Sultan of Johor, was sent back to England from Singapore, complete with diamond engagement ring, when the British Government apparently blocked the couple's engagement in 1938.[2]
