Décor (mascaron) de l'immeuble art nouveau au n° 2a de la rue Alberta (Alberta Iela) à Riga

Cet Immeuble art nouveau (jugendstil) a été conçu en 1906 par l'architecte Mikhail Eisenstein (1867—1921). L'immeuble n'a pas encore été rénové et se trouve dans un état de délabrement important.

Une des caractéristiques de ce bâtiment est la partie supérieure de la façade qui est seulement décorative.

Les deux sphinx qui ornent l'entrée ont marqué Serguei Eisenstein, le cinéaste fils de l'architecte, car ils figurent sous une forme de lions ailés sur les fameux escaliers d'Odessa dans son film "Le cuirassé Potemkine".
