Description

Old postcard of the former Ilkley Convalescent Home, built in the 19th century as Ilkley Charity. It was part of the Hydro movement, which involved health-giving spa baths. One of the founders of this building was the treasurer of the County Courts for Yorkshire, John Peele Clapham.

The building still exists as Abbeyfield Grove House Care Home, Ilkley, West Yorkshire.
