Português: Igreja de São Salvador do Mundo (Igreja da Sé)
Inicialmente uma pequena capela de taipa, erguida pelo donatário de Pernambuco, Duarte Coelho, que via no alto da colina uma possibilidade de proteção contra os inimigos. Foi levantada sob a invocação de Nosso Senhor Salvador do Mundo e, em 1548, deu-se início a construção da nova Igreja Matriz, sofrendo em 1584 sua primeira reforma. Durante a invasão holandesa, serviu como templo calvinista e sua estrutura sofreu bastante com o incêndio ateado pelo invasor. Foi reconstruída na Restauração Pernambucana em 1669, em estilo gótico, e em 1676, elevada à categoria de Catedral, já que Olinda, neste período, passava de vila para cidade. O prédio passou por várias reformas (neogótica em 1911, eclética em 1939) e, em 1983, foi concluída a mais recente restauração. Sua atual fachada é em estilo colonial maneirista. Possui três portas em madeira ladeadas por colunas jônicas, formando com seu frontispício e suas torres um belo conjunto arquitetônico. A segunda torre foi construída em 1713, condição para elevá-la ao status de Catedral. No seu interior, duas ricas capelas laterais em estilo barroco com entalhe e douramento, muito rica em arquitetura e trabalhos artísticos, e possui grandes colunas em pedra. O forro do teto é em madeira abaulada, alto e imponente, além de existirem belos quadros pintados a óleo, talhas em madeira e pedras e móveis em jacarandá.
