English: Excerpt from the black and white 35mm film "Aidez ceux qui aident = That they may live again", commissioned by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), produced by DEFA, directed by Carl von Barany and shot in Berlin during the winter of 1947-1948 to highlight the ICRC efforts to distribute humanitarian aid in Germany. The excerpt of 9 seconds features Lucie Odier (1886-1984), a trained nurse who was one of the earliest female members of the ICRC and for decades in charge of its relief operations, at the ICRC headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. |
