| Description |
Svenska: IBM lanserade PS/2 (Personal System/2) 1987 som en vidareutveckling av PC-systemet. PS/2 hade en sluten arkitektur och tanken var att inga andra tillverkare skulle kunna kopiera systemet och tillverka egna PS/2-datorer. Systemet blev dock aldrig den succé som man hade hoppats på men flera av de standarder som ingick blev industristandard: 3,5-tums diskettenhet på 1,44 MB, 72-pinnars SIMM-minne, PS/2-portar för mus och tangentbord samt VGA -upplösning. IBM Model 70 var en portabel dator som ingick i PS/2-serien. Den utnyttjade alla standarder som fanns i de stationära modellerna och det fanns till och med plats för två MCA-kort. Denna dator har använts på IBM där den användes för uppkoppling på företagets internationella nätverk. Givaren köpte senare ut datorn och använde den privat. |
