Summary

Description Identified as by Getty Images as "Actress Mary Aynderson in a scene from the play, 'Hypatia'." However there is no actress called "Mary Aynderson". Julia Neilson played the title role when Ogilvie's play 'Hypatia' was first performed in 1893. It could alternatively be the actress Mary Anderson, but there is no reason to suppose Anderson ever played the role of Hypatia on stage.
