Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) Hodori
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) This image will serve as the primary means through which readers will visually identify Hodori, the mascot of the 1988 Summer Olympic Games.
Not replaceable with
free media because
(WP:NFCC#1)
As an official mascot, visual representations of them are protected by copyright, owned by either the studio that created them or the Olympic organization that commissioned them. While it is possible to produce a free image of a person in a Hodori costume, this would be far from an adequate visual identification of the official mascot images themselves.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) The image will only be used once in the article discussing the mascots, which are the subject of the image. The image's resolution has been reduced so that it does not compete with the original market role of the image, while still allowing the reader to identify the subjects. The entire image is used so that readers may fully understand the subject.
Respect for
commercial opportunities
(WP:NFCC#2)
The image will only be used to serve as a means of visual identification in the article about the mascot of the 1988 Olympics. The resolution of the image has been reduced so that it would be inferior compared to the original images used to market the mascots.
