Constantinople mint. + IҺS XIS RЄX RЄςNANTIҺm, facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; behind, cross within nimbus crown / + mIXA HL AЧ τOCRAτ, Michael standing facing, wearing crown with pendilia and jeweled chlamys, holding globus cruciger, and being crowned by the Theotokos standing facing to right, wearing nimbus crown, pallium, and maphorium; barred MӨ between. DOC 1a; SB 1840; Berk 310 (this coin illustrated). Good VF, minor edge scuff and a few small scratches. Extremely rare. |
