Accompanying biography in Vanity Fair read "Lord Henry is a devoted partisan, a practical landlord, a ready speaker, a shrewd man of business, and a pattern of the domestic virtues. He has a proper pride of family, and he is well-bred and amiable to all those who happen to come into contact with him".
