English: In England, c. 1722, presumably brought over by Joshua Vanneck (1702–77), later 1st Baronet of Putney, Heveningham Hall; by descent to Sir Joshua Vanneck (1745–1816), 3rd Baronet, later created Baron Huntingfield (1796); by descent ultimately into the collection of Lt.-Col. Charles Joshua Vanneck, 4th Baron Huntingfield (1842–1915), Heveningham Hall, Suffolk, until 1915; exhibited Royal Academy Winter Exhibition, London, 1907, no. 72 as Cathedral, owner Lord Huntingfield; included in the late Lord Huntingfield sale, Christie's, London, 25 June 1915, no. 129; purchased by Grimm; collection of Mrs Dudley Blois (a cousin of Baron Huntingfield), by 1932; from whom acquired, on the advice of Randall Davies, for the Felton Bequest in 1933.
