Hemimycena cephalotricha (Joss. ex Redhead) Singer

Image location: Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Santa Cruz Co., California, USA

Growing on a thick piece of tanoak bark, inside a pile of decaying bark on the ground.

Caps 3 mm or less.

Capitate cystidia everywhere and lemon-like spores should point to H. cephalotricha uniquely. Other characters match as well, the spores being a bit smaller than in the description and basidia a bit thinner.

Spores inamyloid, on the average 6 × 4.5 without apiculus. Basidia ~27 × 5.
