English: The Hazelius mansion sign at open-air museum Skansen i Stockholm: Artur Hazelius, founder of the Nordic Museum and Skansen, was born here in 1833. The building itself dates from the beginning of the 18th century and originally stood in Surbrunnsgatan, Stockholm. Its present appearance dates from a rebuild in 1830s. The ground-floor rooms illustrates a middle-class home of the 1830s. The corner room to the right of the entrance hall contains mementoes of Artur Hazelius. The furniture and personal belongings came from his home in the Yellow House at Skansen, where he lived from 1892 until his death 1901.
Svenska: Hazeliushuset: I detta hus föddes 1833 Artur Hazelius, Nordiska museets och Skansens grundare. Byggnaden uppfördes i början av 1700-talet på Surbrunnsgatan i Stockholm och fick sitt nuvarande utseende vid en ombyggnad 1803. Rummen i bottenvåningen visar ett borgerligt hem på 1830-talet med inredning i Karl Johanstil. Hörnrummet till höger om förstugan är arrangerat som ett minnesrum över Artur Hazelius. Det är inrett med möbler och personliga tillhörigheter från hans hem i Gula huset på Skansen, där han bodde från 1892 till sin död 1901. |
