Description
English: Secretary of War Harry Woodring, today presented Major Caleb V. Haynes, Air Corps, with the distinguished Flying Cross for his work in commanding the recent flight of an Army bomber to Chile with a load of medicines and supplies for survivors of the Chilean earthquake. Charge D'Affaires Ad Interim of the Chilean Embassy, Senor Don Sergio Hunees, looks on. Major Haynes brought the bomber to Langley Field, Va., this morning, and flew to Washington for the medal presentation this afternoon, 2-14-39.
