The Soren Hanson home located at 166 West Main Hyrum Utah, was purchased in 1960 from The Kindred family a well known Catholic Family who restored the home to its original state after the former owner Modd had converted the mansion into four apartment units. The restoration process took several years as the Kindreds wanted to make certain it was done with the use of authentic tile from the time period and other features such as the huge Claw foot tub in the upstairs bathroom that had brass feet. The ceilings in the home were 12 feet high and it was perfect for the Massive furniture that the Kindreds filled the home with. They did an amazing job on the home and then registered it with the National Historical Society that provided a plaque for the front of the house. Ted Kindred who still resides in the Home placed a flag pole in the front of the property and has dedicated many of his historical finds through his research of the Utah Valley to benefit the younger generation who will have access to it for educational purposes. The Kindreds have contributed a great deal to the local community and to the LDS church even though they are members of the Catholic community. Mr. Kindred is a wealth of knowledge not only about the Cache Valley area but about the house and the Soren Hanson family. He has made certain that the history of the Hanson family was made available for them to pass on to their generations. The Kindred Daughters have been very active in preserving the history, especially the two youngest. To learn more about the Soren Hanson family and the Kindreds who have protected the historical mansion and kept it in there family contact the Utah Historical Association. Mrs. Larson.
