Description
English: Allegory of the Turkish war: Battle of Hermannstadt (Transylvania), 3 August 1601. Actually, the battle was held at Goroszló (Transylvania), near Zilah city. Center: Discordia, helding some of the 110 flags captured by Michael the Brave and Giorgio Basta (left: Moldavia, right: Odorhei, center: Szigmond Bathory's flag). Right: Transylvanian prisoners sitting under a round shield with Transylvanian symbols: a hand, a bird, a donkey, a sheep. Left: goddess Diana, holding a spear with the imperial twin-headed eagle, under the Capricorn, emperor Rudolph II's astrological sign.
