Die Zuschreibung an Hans von Kulmbach geschieht durch Löhr in Berufung auf Lübbeke. Löhr wendet sich aber gegen deren These, es könne sich bei dem Bild um einen Predellenflügel als Pendant zu einer Darstellung des Hl. Sebastian in den Kunstsammlungen der Veste Coburg (Inv. Nr. 3288) handeln.[1]
