Description
English: Historical sight of the German town of Hamburg
Hogenberg visited Hamburg in 1585 and again in 1588. St. Nicolai church (on the left) is shown with the enormous spire of 1517, to be destroyed in 1589, still intact. St. Jacobi church (on the right) however is shown without any trace of the spire built in 1587-89 and depicted in Braun/Hogenberg's next Hamburg map of ca. 1589/90.
