| Description |
English: Angel and Royal Hotel and Sharpleys milliners and drapers, Grantham, Lincolnshire, England, pre-WW1. Sharpleys, at No. 1 High Street, a Georgian town house, later converted to a business establishment, was demolished in 1948-49 for the widening of High Street, which was part of the Great North Road route (A1). The site lay demolished until 1960, at which point the local council began instead to build a Grantham Bypass for the A1, making the demolition of Sharpleys of little use for its purposes. |
