U.S. copyright expired. I'm following instructions from the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Non-U.S._copyrights#Clarifying_the_four-point_test, which suggests that copyright in France extended till 70 years after the death of the author, Dietrich. At that point this picture can go to Commons and be used across languages.
