Summary

Description

Ten engines built to operate on tight curves around Paddington Station. Designed by Hawksworth in 1949, 1501 is sole survivor and was sold to the National Coal Board before preservation. Distinguishing features are the panniers not flanking the smoke box, absence of footplate and Walschaerts valve gear.
