On Friday, Jan 13, 2006, the day of his 51st birthday Frankie Knuckles had his picture taken with adoring fan and fellow artist Chris McAvoy @ DJ Hut Record Store in Washington DC. It was the first time he visited the city in 11 years, coming to play at Club Five. Even though it was only an in-store meet and greet appearance, it was an unforgettable day for everyone who met him. That's because Frankie treats people on an equal basis with politeness and kindness. He will have an un-rushed conversation with you. Typical of House music culture in the USA, he is not an artist that has chosen an arrogant celebrity lifestyle. He remembers his roots.
