Summary

Description
English: Français was a member of the Barbizon School who favoured painting in nature. This is a watercolour created en plein air c 1865 so as to catch the light of a particular moment. Français was a major figure within the school but is now relatively under represented in studies of the period.
Français : Français était membre de l'école de Barbizon qui privilégiait la peinture dans la nature. Il s'agit d'une aquarelle créée en plein air vers 1865 pour capter la lumière d'un moment particulier. Le français était une figure majeure au sein de l'école mais est aujourd'hui relativement sous-représenté dans les études de l'époque.
