DescriptionFormer National School, Beast Banks, Kendal - geograph.org.uk - 167447.jpg
English: Former National School, Beast Banks, Kendal. Dated 1818, with an inscription on a slate tablet over the porch: 'NATIONAL SCHOOL FOR BOYS. Built by public subscription and munificently endowed by Matthew Pyper, of Whitehaven, Esquire'. It is quite a large building, with twelve tall windows, mostly segment-headed, along the side. It became an annexe to Vicarage Park School in 1974 and was closed and converted to flats in 1985.
