There is commentary in the article about the logo itself as follows: "The logo has five pieces representing the five states that First Bank System did business in 1979. The central piece is supposed to look like the number 1 (for First). The two pieces flanking the central piece are supposed to look like the silhouette of the Pillsbury Center in Minneapolis (now U.S. Bank Place) which First Bank developed in 1978-80 and was a major tenant until 1992." |
