This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of low-resolution screenshots for critical commentary and discussion of the film and its contents on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States. Fair use rationale on Reaver (Firefly)[edit]

1. The image is a screenshot from the DVD release of the film Serenity originally created by Universal, and intended for wide distribution.
2. The screenshot is of lower resolution than the original film (copies made from it will be of inferior quality).
3. No free or public domain images have been located of a Reaver.
4. The screenshot does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the film in any way.
5. The screenshot is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original film in any way. It is being used in an article that describes Reavers and this will be in the section on the design concept for the "creature".
