English: 'Hall' 4-6-0 at Exeter St David's Locomotive Depot.;
View eastwards in the locomotive yard, which adjoins the Station on its SW side. Considering the importance of Exeter, the Depot (coded 83C in the Newton Abbot District) housed (in February 1954) only 32 locomotives:- 6 4-6-0, 4 2-6-0, 1 0-6-0, 1 2-6-2T, 12 0-6-0T and 8 0-4-2T; thus duties covered were mainly those on the several local branch-lines. No. 5976 'Ashwicke Hall' (built 9/38, withdrawn 7/64) was one of Exeter's four 'Halls'.
