Summary

Description
English: Flower buds and opercula (bud caps) of Eucalyptus erythrocorys. This is a good species with which to illustrate the characteristic operculum of Eucalyptus and Corymbia because it is large and brightly coloured.
Top left: A flower bud with operculum still attached;
Bottom left: A flower bud immediately after the operculum can been released;
Top right: A flower bud with stamens half expanded.
Bottom right: Upper and lower surfaces of opercula.
