Description
Español: Escudo del municipio de Saravena (Arauca).

"Fue ideado por el doctor NORBERTO CERMEÑO. Está formado por dos franjas, una superior de color verde y una inferior de color amarillo. La franja superior lleva un antorcha que significa libertad, ciencia y salud. Entre ambas franjas se halla la luna, diosa de la naturaliza entre los U’wa. La franja inferior lleva los símbolos de la economía del Municipio sobre fondo rojo. La minería, la agricultura y la ganadería. El escudo tiene forma de alabarda. La alabarda fue un arma utilizada por los soldados en Europa durante la Edad media. Esta alabarda del escudo es alemana, pues lo alemanes de JORGE DE SPIRA fueron los primeros europeos que atravesaron el Sarare viniendo de Venezuela y pasando por la Isla del Charo en mil quinientos treinta y seis (1536)."
