Description

New Orleans: 19th century advertisement for Ernest Turpin Candy Store, with image of the store front.

Family business, where later noted film comedian Ben Turpin worked as a child.

Date Not dated. Clearly before the 1894 street address renumbering. "Old Levee Street" was officially renamed "Decatur Street" in 1870, though some usage of the old name continued for a time. Guestimate: 1860s or early 1870s.
