Summary

Description Eng Choon Assembly Hall (built 1930), alongside four other similarly built three storey pre-war buildings (one to the left, and three to the right) at Jalan Ampang (Ampang Road), between Jalan Munshi Abdullah (Munshi Abdullah Road) and Jalan Melaka (previously Malacca Street), in the Golden Triangle, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as seen towards the southeast. Of the five buildings pictured, only one (third from the right) retains most of its original window designs; the inner structure of Eng Choon Assembly Hall itself was rebuilt to support a taller building within. The lack of clear guidelines for architectural conservation in the city means unregulated alterations of lesser known pre-war buildings are common.
