DescriptionEllen Street station, train and crowd, 1904 (colour-added, photographer-modified postcard -- SLSA B 11616).jpg
English: A just-arrived passenger train on the narrow-gauge railway line running down the centre of Ellen Street, Port Pirie. Visible are six bogie passenger cars, a four-wheeled radius-roofed post office van and a four-wheeled brake van. Many passengers are being greeted on the roadway or are leaving the precinct. The Ellen Street station, completed in 1902, is central to the view. This is a printed postcard image that was coloured, and substantially lined out, by the photographer and/or the printer.
The image originates in a low-resolution download available free of charge from the State Library of South Australia (SLSA) website (https://collections.slsa.sa.gov.au/resource/B+11616). The library's web page states that a higher-resolution image is available for purchase from them. I slightly amended some exposure, contrast and colour values and removed some blemishes before uploading to Wikimedia Commons. The image with original faults can be downloaded from the SLSA website.
