English: The earliest extant map of the Nile in al-Khwārazmī’s Kitāb ṣūrat al- arḍ (Picture of the Earth). Original size 33.5 × 41 cm. Blue, green, and brown gouache and red and black ink on paper.
Date Copied in 428 AH/AD 1036.
Source Strasbourg, bibliothèque nationale et universitaire, Ms 4.247 (not 4247), fol. 30v.
Author Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī.
