Fair use rationale for Seal of the President of the United States[edit]

This image, Eagle_clutching_a_scroll.jpg, is a screen shot from a National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets film, and copyrighted by the Walt Disney Pictures, I feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use law because:

1. The image is a low-resolution (500 × 375) screen shot from a 124-minute film, and of inferior quality to DVD/Blu-ray releases;
2. The image is being used for informational purposes, visually depicting what the seal looks like.
3. No more free alternative exists or can exist;
4. The use of the image in this article will have no effect on the Walt Disney Pictures’s commercial use of the image in question.

This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of low-resolution screenshots for critical commentary and discussion of the film and its contents on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States.
