English: Ex-Highland Railway 'Ben' class 4-4-0 at Dingwall. View westward in the goods yard south of the Station: ex-Highland Far North Line, Inverness - Dingwall - Wick/Thurso, junction of the Kyle of Lochalsh line. No. 14401 'Ben Vrackie' had only a month or two to live, being a survivor of the Drummond 'Ben' class 2P 4-4-0 dating from 1898 and withdrawn in 11/48. (The scene features also one of the countless (usually primitive) 'Private Owner' coal wagons which abounded in those days. |
