Summary

Description

The road along the coast south from San Francisco passes along beaches as well as along steep cliffs. At one such spot it traditionaly fails every winter, and part of the road falls into the ocean, the road is closed, and what for some people used to be a 15 minute drive turns into an hour's detour to get to work.

Repairs can take anywhere from 6 weeks (good) to most of a year (bad)
