English: Marble statue of Queen Victoria, created by Francis John Williamson (1833–1920), unveiled in 1898. (See p. 127–128 in Paula Murphy, “Nineteenth-Century Irish Sculpture”, ISBN 978-0-300-15909-7.) Inscription: “VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX
This statue was erected by public subscription to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Great Britain and Ireland of her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Victoria in the mayoralty of Aldn John B Johnston Jr 1897–98 unveiled by his Excellency the Right Hon. George Henry Earl Cadogan K.C. Lord Lieutenant General and General Governor of Ireland on the 24th Day of November 1898”.
