Summary[edit]

30 second sample of Deftones' song "Change (In the House of Flies)" from the album White Pony (2000). Sample is used to illustrate the album's expanded sound featuring new elements from turntablist Frank Delgado and Chino Moreno adding additional guitars.

Audio was cropped to less than 10% of original length (5:01 to 0:30) and had a short fade in and fade out added at the beginning and end of the sample. Encoded to OGG format at quality level = 0.

Fair use in Deftones[edit]

This is a sound sample from a commercial recording. Its inclusion here is claimed as fair use because:

• It illustrates an educational article that specifically discusses the song from which this sample was taken
• It is a sample of 30 seconds from a much longer recording, and could not be used as a substitute for the original commercial recording; and
• It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted sample of comparable educational value.
• It is believed that this sample will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original recording.
