Summary[edit]

The image shows Phillip Davey's grave in Adelaide's West Terrace Cemetery, taken by Trevor Peart in 2004.

The two engravings on the gravestone are of the "AIF" version of the Rising Sun (badge), and of the Victoria Cross. The Rising Sun badge engraving is a version of an Australian Government-owned artwork and this version was first used on a gravestone at the AIF Cemetery, West Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia when the cemetery opened in March 1920.

The Victoria Cross engraving is derived from the medal of the Victoria Cross, which was first struck in 1856.
