English: La Estación del Ferrocarril Ibarra - San Lorenzo fue construida en la década de los 50 del siglo pasado y restaurada en el año 2011.
La ruta Ibarra-Salinas con una extesión de 30 Km, parte desde la estación de Ibarra y atraviesa zonas agrícolas como Haciendas de cañaverales, una cascada, el puente sobre el río Ambi y siete túneles excavados en la montaña a pico y pala. La Estación de Salinas de Ibarra se encuentra rodeada de dos barrios con casas antiguas, construidos con tapial, carrizo y techo de teja. Allí vive la comunidad afro–ecuatoriana que hace presentaciones con su baile, música, el ritmo característico es la Bomba ésta lleva elnombre del tambor con que se interpreta. Además, cuenta con el Museo Etnográfico de la Sal, los guías muestran a los visitantes cómo era la extracción de sal en los tiempos antiguos. Es una réplica de las minas que existían anteriormente, en donde se procesaba la sal que se encontraba mezclada en la tierra por filtración.
