English: A watercolor painted by American sailor and artist William Henry Meyers during The Pacific Coast Campaign of the Mexican-American War. The painting depicts USS Dale (The larger ship) and USS Libertad) (the smaller ship) burning the Mexican schooner Alerta off Loreto, Mexico in 1847.
