Deutsch: Das von Wolfgang Pagenstecher entworfene Wappen wurde am 30.Januar 1935 vom Oberpräsidenten der preußischen Rheinprovinz verliehen. Es ist abgeleitet von einem Schöffengerichtssiegel aus dem Jahre 1556. Es zeigt im oberen Feld das Wappen des ehemaligen Landesherrn, den roten Bergischen Löwen; das Geweih deutet möglicherweise auf den Wildreichtum im Gemeindegebiet hin.
