Deutsch: Der am 1. Juli 1969 neugebildeten Stadt Borgholzhausen ist mit Urkunde des RP Detmold vom 14. Januar 1970 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. Dabei führt sie in Rechtsnachfolge das dem damaligen Amt Borgholzhausen am 17. März 1938 verliehene Wappen weiter.
English: granted 1938-03-17 to the former Amt Borgholzhausen, and 1970-01-14 to the city of Borgholzhausen, which was newly built in 1969, in legal succession.
