Object history
Deutsch: Der Gemeinde Bönen ist mit Urkunde des Innenministers des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen vom 18. April 1969 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens, eines Siegels und einer Flagge verliehen worden. Das Wappen ist abgeleitet vom Wappen der Herren von Bönen. Es zeigt eine sogenannte Haile, welche früher in der Pferdehaltung als Fußfessel verwendet wurde.
English: The arms were officially granted on April 18, 1969. The hobble in the arms is derived from the arms of the former Lords of Boenen.
